He also conducts mediation and facilitation, privately
and through the North Carolina Superior Court Mediated Settlement Conference
Program. He is a co-founder and Board Chair of The
Durham P.R.O.U.D. Program. P.R.O.U.D., established in 1996, is a
life-skills training and development program for at-risk youth and their
families. Features of the Program include behavior management, taking
personal responsibility, importance of education, and conflict resolution. He
is a Board member or member of numerous professional and civic organizations
including: American Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina
Bar Association, City County Violence Prevention Committee of Durham, Durham
Achieving Results for Youth and Children (DARYC) and the Achievement Academy of
Durham. Mark is an Adjunct Professor of Law at North
Carolina Central University School of Law since 2001, training law students in
the representation of young people denied their constitutional rights, and
services to which they are entitled under law. He is the owner and manager of a land development operation known as Owl’s Wood Development, LLC, concentrating in purchasing, developing for sale, commercial and residential real estate. He is the co-director, with his wife, Marcia A. Angle, of a private family foundation supporting organizations which benefit children and families, world health and ecological preservation. |
